Paolo Reho


Paolo is an Associate Research Scientist at the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. His research investigates the molecular basis of complex disease through the integration of genomic, multi-omic and clinical data.

Paolo earned his PhD in Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Pavia, Italy, before completing postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and Columbia University, where he studied the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia, and multiple system atrophy. His work draws on computational biology, statistical genetics, and epidemiology to identify biomarkers of disease risk, progression, and treatment response.

In the Belsky Lab, Paolo is a member of the Geroscience Computational Core, where he applies multi-omics approaches to investigate the biology of aging, age-related diseases, and metabolic disorders. His research aims to translate molecular discoveries into improved strategies for disease prediction, prevention, and precision medicine.

Outside the lab, Paolo enjoys inline skating, cycling, watching soccer, and exploring New York's pizza scene.
